Self-custody means you control the private keys that provide access to your digital assets. Unlike custodial services, Unitywallet does not hold your private keys or control your funds. You remain responsible for securely storing your recovery phrase and authorizing transactions.
You decide when and how to move your digital assets. Unitywallet provides access to supported blockchain networks while control over your wallet stays with you.
If you lose your recovery phrase and no longer have access to your wallet, Unitywallet cannot restore access on your behalf.
Both your recovery phrase and private keys can be used to access your funds, but the scenarios differ.
- Recovery phrase — The primary backup for restoring your self-custodial wallet and the sub-accounts derived from it.
- Private keys — Used to authorize blockchain transactions. Separate keys are derived for each sub-account and blockchain.
View your recovery phrase

Go to Profile and tap Settings. - 02Open Security center
Select Security center from the settings menu. - 03Tap Recovery phrase
View and securely back up your recovery phrase.
View your private key
- 01Open Wallets
Go to Wallets and open your sub-accounts list. - 02Open sub-account settings
Tap the gear icon next to the sub-account you want. - 03Open Advanced options
Select Advanced options, then choose the blockchain. - 04View your private key
Tap Private key to view it.
Your recovery phrase can restore access to your Unitywallet account. A private key cannot — it only gives access to a single blockchain address.
Never share your recovery phrase or private keys with anyone, including people claiming to represent Unitywallet.
If your device is lost, damaged, or replaced, you can restore your self-custodial wallet using your recovery phrase.

Unitywallet does not store it and cannot recover it for you. Never share it, including with anyone claiming to represent Unitywallet.
If you suspect key compromise, consider transferring funds to a new secure wallet.
Security alerts help you stay informed about important events associated with Unitywallet. From account changes and new logins to outgoing transactions, alerts give you greater visibility into activity that may require your attention.
What can I stay informed about?

Review your security alerts to recognize unexpected activity and take appropriate action when needed.
How are alerts delivered?
- Push notifications — free and enabled by default for all users.
- Security emails — available to Gold tier members of the Unitywallet Loyalty Program.
Alerts are an additional security tool. They cannot prevent every unauthorized action or guarantee the safety of your wallet.
Turn security emails on or off in a few steps.

The toggle applies to all types of security emails. Security emails are available to Gold tier members.
New login alerts remain active, as they help identify potential unauthorized access.
This alert informs you that a change to the email address associated with your Unitywallet account has been recorded.
What does the alert show?
- Previous email — the address that was associated with your account.
- New email — the address now associated with your account.
- Date — when the change was recorded.
If you made this change, no additional action may be necessary.
Didn’t recognize this change?
Review your account settings and contact official Unitywallet support if you believe the change was unauthorized.
Never share your recovery phrase, private keys, or sensitive authentication information in response to an email or support message.
This alert informs you that a request to delete your Unitywallet account has been recorded.
A deletion request does not necessarily mean that the account has already been deleted.

Didn’t request account deletion?
Contact official Unitywallet support promptly to report unexpected account activity.
Deleting an application account does not automatically erase blockchain transactions or assets recorded on public networks.
A new login alert means your Unitywallet account has been accessed from a device that wasn’t previously recognized.
What can I review?
The available alert details include:
- Date and time of the login.
- Device information.
- Location and IP address.

Treat it as a potential security concern. Review your account access, secure your credentials, and contact official Unitywallet support.
If you believe your recovery phrase or private keys have been compromised, consider moving your assets to a newly secured wallet.
New login alerts cannot be disabled under the current security settings, as they are designed to help you recognize potentially unauthorized access.
This alert informs you when an outgoing cryptocurrency transfer or supported blockchain transaction is initiated from your Unitywallet account.
What can I see?
Review available transaction details, including:
- Blockchain network.
- Sender and recipient addresses.
- Transaction amount.
- Transaction hash.
How can I verify the transaction?
Use the transaction hash to look up its status and details on the corresponding blockchain explorer.
Can I cancel a transaction?
Once a transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, it generally cannot be reversed.
Are there network fees?
Standard blockchain transactions typically involve network fees determined by the network. Supported alternative transaction methods may handle fees differently.
If you don’t recognize a transaction, review your wallet’s security immediately.
This alert highlights detected blockchain activity associated with your wallet that may have originated outside the Unitywallet application.
This usually means your recovery phrase was used in another wallet application. If it wasn’t you, your recovery phrase may be compromised.
What can I review?
Depending on the event, available details may include the network, wallet addresses, transaction amount, and transaction hash.
