Sub-accounts let you create separate wallets within Unitywallet, giving you more flexibility to organize and manage your digital assets.
Keep funds for different purposes apart, such as personal spending, savings, or other financial activities.
Each sub-account has its own wallet addresses and is derived from your main recovery phrase.
One recovery phrase. Multiple ways to organize your money.
You might want to have, for example, a savings account, a personal account and a rainy day sub-account. You can also have an account for different trading strategies e.g. HODL, DCA (dollar cost averaging) or daily trading. The choice is yours.
Create a dedicated sub-account in a few simple steps.
- 01Open your accounts
Go to Wallets and tap your balance at the top of the screen. - 02Add a sub-account
Tap the green + button to create a new account. - 03Complete setup
Follow the on-screen instructions and tap Done. - 04Create more when needed
Repeat the process to add additional sub-accounts, subject to your available account limit.
Your new sub-account will appear alongside your existing wallets, ready for you to organize and use.
- 01Go to 'Wallets' tab → tap on your balance (default is Sub-Account 1).
- 02Access sub-account options → tap the ⚙️ icon next to Sub-Account 1.
- 03Rename your sub-account → tap 'Name', enter a new name, and tap 'Done'.
You can archive a sub-account you no longer need to keep active.
- 01Move your assets
If necessary, transfer any remaining funds to another sub-account. - 02Open Sub-accounts
Go to Dashboard → Ecosystem → Sub-Accounts. - 03Open Settings
Select Settings for the account you want to archive. - 04Archive
Tap Archive to complete the process.
Your currently active sub-account cannot be archived. Switch to another account first.
Archiving does not delete your blockchain transactions or remove assets from the blockchain.

- 01Open Sub-accounts
Go to Dashboard → Ecosystem → Sub-Accounts. - 02Choose your account
Select the sub-account you’d like to make active. - 03Continue where you left off
Unitywallet will automatically return you to your previous screen with your selected account active.
You can also switch accounts by tapping your balance at the top of Wallets.
Switching accounts changes your active wallet view. It does not transfer assets between accounts.
Transfer supported digital assets between your sub-accounts while keeping control of how your funds are organized.
- 01Choose your asset
Open Wallets, select the asset you want to transfer, and tap Send. - 02Select the destination
Choose Sub-Accounts and select the account you’d like to receive the funds. - 03Enter your amount
Specify how much you want to move. You can switch between the asset amount and its fiat equivalent if needed. - 04Review your transfer
Check the receiving account, amount, and applicable network fee. Select a transaction speed if available. - 05Confirm
Review the transaction details and authorize your transfer.
Transfers between sub-accounts may involve blockchain network fees. Always review the details before confirming.
Unitywallet will not charge you any fees for transferring between sub-accounts. However, you will pay blockchain fees depending on the transaction speed you select.
Personalize and manage your sub-accounts to suit the way you use Unitywallet.
Open Dashboard → Ecosystem → Sub-Accounts, then select Settings for the account you’d like to manage.
- Name — Give your sub-account a name that reflects its purpose, such as Personal, Savings, or Business.
- Creation Date — View when your sub-account was created.
- Enable Contacts — Choose whether this sub-account is used as the default destination for supported incoming transfers from Unitywallet contacts.
- Archive — Archive sub-accounts you no longer need to keep active. This option is available only when the account is not currently active and the relevant default-account setting is disabled.
- Advanced Options — Access technical account information, including private keys and derivation paths.
Keep private keys confidential. Never share them with anyone.
